#1 PostAuthor: Richardz900 » Fri Mar 06, 2009 10:52 pm

Hi all, ive just fitted a combined regulater/rectifier on my z900 a4 and when i opened the box the only paper/instructions were in japanese, the piece itself was, as far as i could see was easy to fit, one plug, one push fit and the earth, this i did and it seems to work but i was left with a seperate push fit plug with a red and two blue wires is this an adapter for another model as i cant see anywhere this could fit, has anyone fitted one and been left with the same thing, any advice to put my mind at ease as i dont want to do any damage, i got it from z.power with a dyna s ignition which i fitted with no problems but the instructions were in english !!!!!!! thanks in advance, Richard.[/img]

RichardZ, it sounds as so you have connected the rec/reg succesfully, however, you can give it a simple check by putting a volt-meter accross the battery terminals and take a reading at idle. then rev it up and hold it at about 3000 rpm... It should come up to about 14.0 volts.

Increasing the revs further it should not continue to rise in voltage ... meaning you are controlling the voltage. If if did not work it would increase to say to 20 volts or more with the increase of revs.
RegardZ.
