Principally for the benefit of Chris (saab9002) but hope someone else gets benefit from it too.
Good to meet you Chris.

This is a copy of the original i had when i bought the bike.
I asked my friend to weld up some tube and this was his unique interpretation of what i had said. Never mind,..... it was free.
The single piece of thick walled tube would have been quite sufficient but he never does things the easy way!!

He made it with 35mm A/F angle strapped to the side of the tube and this is really slightly too large as it fouls the centre stand lugs.
Might set the grinder on it.

It is bolted with two 8mm bolts to the two lugs which were on the frame already.

It sits above the exhaust collector box when the exhaust is on the bike and is very useful for setting up the fork air pressure, oil level, chain cleaning etc etc .... all the things you might use a centre stand for.

Needless to say the centre stand lives in a box on the shelf all the while i have a 4into1.

( Purposely worded it like that for a nice reply from Paully when he's finished his evening's shandy  )

Your right Jack i never hear a squeak when running over sleepy policemen but the ones you get at the entrance to industrial sites and office estates always clang like a basta8d cos the underslung type is so low and the forks so bouncy.

That said i know someone who has a side mounted V&H and he has to push the bike round right hand corners.

I agree with you Mark i dont want a heaving great lump of ugly junk on my bike either which is why Fatty Z1R has never driven it! :pop
