left hand switch gear
fitting a new wiring loom to my 73 z1. found that connector block on l/h swichgear has a connectorblock with bullet type connectors not the type on the new loom. i have been told that my switch gear is probably z1000 or z650. cut 6 terminal connector block for rear lights and bullet connector for switchgear off old loom to make a changeover lead. does any one know which color wires on z1000/z650 connector match z1 wiring.

if the switchblock just has 6 or 7 individual bullet connectors, then it is from a later bike - many of the z1000 (and some of the z650) switchblocks had the individual wires rather than the connector block to go through the handlebars.
The bulk of the switchblock is functionally the same - except on some years you have the 4-way hazard warning light switch on the lower part of the switchblock.
