Can i register a frame with no history ?
I have a z1000 frame which has no history, so i don't know if it has been previously registered or scrapped, is it possible to get an age related plate using the frame no. & a dating certificate or would i be better off finding a frame with it's v5 ?
any help would be greatly apreciated.......Jez

Think you should be ok getting it registered, you wont get the original registration number, though it should be the same year. Think jerry will be able to sort it or if not the vintage japanes motorcycle club can help.
Thing you will need to have a complete bike though before any off this can be done, though i stand to be proved wrong yet again, good luck

Get it HPI checked from the frame number, this should tell you if it has been written off or hopefully give you the registration.
Usually you'll have to build the frame up into a bike, get it MOT'd from the frame number, then get a dating certificate for the frame.
Jerry can supply a dating certificate for the frame.
Then you go to your local VRO (vehicle registration office) with all your paperwork including M.O.T. and insurance, pay the first registration fee and either 6/12 months road tax.
You book your bike in for a pre-arranged inspection, when it's been inspected you hopefully get an age related plate.
When the bike is inpsected they want to see the stamped frame number on the headstock (so make sure it's visible if you've powder coated the frame) and also the engine number.
Some folks on here have been able to register their bikes without any inspection but I used the Nottingham VRO and they insist on vehicle inspection.
