CAM END CAPS/CLEANING UP HEAD EXTERNALLY

#1 PostAuthor: PAULJAC47 » Thu Dec 11, 2008 6:11 pm

Hi All,Just got my Z1b head back from engine shop they have made a good job of the valve guides and the couple of threads that had been butchered sometime in the bikes past.Trouble is they have lost one of the valve end caps, looked on Z power and you can get these as single items but do you need Kawabond to re fix or will any gasket sealant suffice? also fins on head are still quite dirty anyone know of good way of cleaning into fins instead of going to trouble of vapour blasting.if i did this i reckon it would show up barrels. Thanks in anticipation PaulJ....

Just done mine and they were previously done with Hermetite brown.

I`ve redone them with RTV silicon.

I`ll be interested to hear other opinions also !

Also.... let the silicon part-set so it holds the 'slippy' buggers in place whilst you tighten the cam cover
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
