Dyna Coil - connectivity question

#1 PostAuthor: chrisu » Sat Nov 08, 2008 1:22 pm

I've got a set of Dyna coils which do not seem to have any markings on the terminals.

Does it matter which way round - if so can anyone say which is which ?

thanks...............

Not with the twin output ones, the single output Dynas are marked apparently, not that that makes any odds with a Zed coil. Don't try this with a standard coil - on a 1000R at any rate - as they are marked and run like a bag of shite with the wires the wrong way round. Or so they tell me....

I always connect the feed wire + to the one furthest from the metal post to reduce risk of shorting, coz thems real close...

But as said, no preference for connecting to either terminal :P
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Chrisu, the concensus of opinion seems to be that :
you mount the coils with the plug lead spouts pointing towards the front.
With the type of connectors you have the leads tend to take up too much room.
The room I'm talking about is the Triangular area where the horn is.
You may find it better to use the "right-angle" connectors .
These give you a better natural radius to get back to the plug.
Hence shorter leads.
Also fit a bit of heat shrink around the mouning bolt,
As they are very close to the terminal.
Regardz.
