I knew not taking more photos was going to bite me on the arse. Right, I'm putting bits back on the bike now and I decided to do the centre stand before I build the rolling chassis. I had to scrap the original centre stand as the pivot shaft had seized and had to be hacksawed off.
This means I have a newly powdercoated centre stand and a new pivot, and it seems that the pivot goes into the stand and is secured with two split pins - is this correct? No washers? It makes sense to me that there would be a couple, but I'm not sure there's room. As most of the original centre stand was toast I'm not sure if there ever was washers... can anyone help?
Also, I have a small rubber bung in my bag of parts - can anyone remind me where the hell it goes? Thanks!
Stu

Go to www.kawasaki.com, choose "owner info" on the left then "parts diagrams".
"motorcycle" should show in the top box, press "continue".
Select "year" "ccc" then "continue"
Choose "KZ650" and then look for "parts diagrams", this will load up the parts fiche the pictures are under "stands and pedals"
