Fork re-chroming in Portsmouth area

#1 PostAuthor: pablo » Sat Sep 13, 2008 6:08 pm

Does anyone know of a decent shop for re-chroming forks in the Pompey area? I'll be there for a week in a month or so and need to get the things done.

On the other hand, with the cost of re-chroming these days maybe I'd be better off with a new set for £75 from Z-Power. Any views?

Cheers, P.

I had mine done by Philpotts which were good but then it was about £120 so new may be cheaper !

I have just used Philpotts as I wanted to use the original legs they cost £130 inc. pick-up and delivery, they did a nice job too. If you do buy new and the postage is high to Spain get them sent to mine and i'll run them down to you when your over.

Thanks for the offer Steve - much appreciated. I think I'll just order a new pair though - seems the easiest all round. Hadn't realised how much it cost to do a re-chrome these days!

Cheers, P.

Jesus Harry - you're right! That puts a new complexion on it. I'll have to see what other sources I can find. P.
