Regulator/Rectifier wires?

#1 PostAuthor: ZGAZ » Wed Aug 13, 2008 6:34 pm

I just bought a combined replacement regulator from LM Spares for my 1977 Z1000 A1 project. It has five wires which are two yellow, a black, a red/white & a brown. No instructions but I assume black is earth, red/white goes to battery positive & brown to the main brown in the loom to feed all electrical components.

My problem is that there are the three wires from the alternator & I expected to see three yellow wires into the reg/rect. but it has only two!
Just wondered if anybody had bought one of these from LM Spares & wired it up to their zed.

Possibly they have sent me the wrong one? Anybody got any ideas.
Thanks

Think you may have the wrong one . Could it be single phase ? The generator on my Lawson only has two yellow wires and is 180watt single phase .

Should have three yellow to the alt, the black is earth, white/red main feed (battery) and brown is a voltage sensing wire (to brown in loom)
