Engine swop?

#1 PostAuthor: Keefleaf » Wed Jul 23, 2008 9:07 pm

Hi,has anyone put a Gpz 1100,[j motor} in earlier frame,78 Z!000?
Can I use any of the original mounts from either donor bikes?
I know Z1 has two mounts,back-one front.The Gpz,two front one back.
Do I have to make all brackets / chain in line?
Where`s Jack?

Top rear engine mount is in the same place . Will need spacers made Gpz/J mount is a wee bit different . Top front engine mount shouldn't be too far away but will need new bracket/spacer as rubber mounts are used on J motor , bottom front mount needs tube and mountings welded to frame downtubes . Easy peasy .
