Many of us use Z Power for parts, [take a look in the Links section]. You can also check on their site for model recognition.
The Haynes manual for the earlier 900/1000 models is shite. Try looking for a genuine Kawasaki manual on e-bay. Failing that, try obtaining a Clymer one.
Good luck!

Hi Pagan you could also try Z1enterprises.com in america, sounds a bit far - but the exchange rate is good at the moment and the postage costs and delivery time is very good.

I agree with others try and get a genuine manual off ebay

cheers

I've not tried the Haynes for the J, but the one for the thou A1/A2 is proper shite. The proper Kawasaki workshop manual really is worth holding out for.

I have to say I was somewhat underwhelmed by the full gasket set I had form Z Power. The funny shaped 'o' ring that goes around cam chain tunnel really wasn't the right size and was an absolute bastard to fit. If I'd been on my own I'd have been completely dog and ducked.

Z1 Enterprises supplied me some Cometic gaskets and they were brilliant, and cheap :)

Debben performance are pretty good too. I had a funny gasket from them for the clutch cover on my FJ. It seemed to be aluminium with a sort of rubbery coating on it. Wasn't really sure how to fit it, so I smeared the faces with grease and it all worked fine :D Any one else come across this type of gasket? Not sure it's a Yamaha thang as the one I took off certainly wasn't of this type :??

Enjoy playing with it :D

Ralphy, those ally/rubber gaskets are not uncommon and are very good.

They can be a real pig to remove tho  so the grease should help if you ever need to get it off again

As yo say, the those rubber cam tunnel O rings are usually shite..... I had a cheapo 'Athena' gasket set and mine was a bit on the small size
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Hi Pagan, nice looking chop, i have two manuals (Clymer and Kawasaki) to cover the J type motor, various other useful publications and some spec sheets etc, valve shim tool, and some useful contacts for general stuff. Not for sale but accessible none the less. Anything i can do to help, let me know. I am 8 miles West of Guildford.

P.S. Welcome to the club, you've come to the right place.
