Need to replace the creamcrackered guide wheels. The 2 bottom ones will be liska but the top one seems abit pricey.Stuff from the usa gets a 50% tax added on in holland which does my scottish wallet in.I removed an old top guide wheel from its holder and surely you can just fit a liska bottom wheel to it and make a new roller a bit longer and weld the sucker on,or am I being abit rough. Should I stop moaning and cough up the cash or would this be an acceptable mod/bodge.

I think you should cough up the cash and buy a nice new one especially as mine should be working its way over from the states as Itype!!
Why don't you get friends/relatives in scotland to buy it and they could then send it to you as a christmas pressie ;)

Ian, what happens with this top sprocket is that it becomes detached from its rubber bonding, so that the sprocket, which may be good, is somewhat sloopy on the bearing which also may be good. Many workshops make up a solid bush that retains the bearing and the sprocket and you have a much more solid assembly. This does work as it has been found not to detract from the normal shock-aborbing feature of the rubber mount.

Ian, I was doing my Z900 head last winter and if I remember all three wheels are the same, my top roller is off Z1000A1and the shaft is bolted there as oposed to Z900 where it's weldeed, other than that the dimmensions are the same so it just fits with no mods, so if you can ge hold of Z1000 one even if the roller is no good you could do the liska trick I guess

Good one Hanskloss, Thanks! I have thought about this, however, I was never game to try the different top sprocket mount. I shall, next time.
