Mate,

I could watch your avater all day! :D

Being totally straight, the first bike I went stupid speeds on (pillion)was back in 84 on a GPZ900R A1 fire (cracker red and ivory) at the time as most of us will know this was the bike to have, again at that time I rode a 50cc Suzuki OR 50, then at 17 a Suzuki A100.

At 19 I joined the RAF, the bike scene took a back step.

After quite a few years I got posted to RAF Valley and worked with a bloke who had a Harris GSXR1100, after working with him for 6 months I bought a Z650 C3 and loved every second on her, up until the rounderbout with a fuel spill in the middle  After waking up in hospital a couple of days latter I vowed to my Dad that I'd never ride a bike again.

Two years passed and I could not help myself, I was out of the RAF and had my own house, no bird or wife! Stuff it, I bought a GPZ750R. I found that I loved my early Sunday morning blast's and keeping her in the front room helped, let's face it if you live on your own what would you have there?

Anyway, a few years past and the GPZ went, a new bird came and the thought of Kawasaki's went..............more tit's and blowies

We then got married and after 18 months I told her that I had to get a old Z, I'd wanted one since I was bloody 11 years old and at the time I was earning good coin. So I went to Z power and talked to them, I wanted a ELR and they talked me in to something very similar (if anyone has not sussed I'm English)
Anyway, a few bob latter a Z1RTC was dropped off at my door!
I did not take her out for a few weeks as it was not the weather, January and Turbo's don't probebly mix!
When I did take her out for the first time the power that I was expecting was just not there, in the end I took her back to Dave and after a few weeks he got the results back fom the engine builders, basically it would cost as much as the cost of the bike to get the engine right, which at the time was not in my budget. Dave being a total Gent refunded the total purchase price and I went on my merry way.

I moved to New Zealand 6 month latter and found that I had no spare dosh, stayed there 3 years and moved here to Australia. Been here for 18 months, I now have some spare cash and have beed searching all the
add's for a GPZ900, thats when I found the ELR. Now that's the bike I have always wanted form when I had no pubes, just did not think I'd get the chance again.

At the end of the day I'll pay for something thats worth the price, but I've been ripped off so many time over here on the other side of the World I guess I just want help :D

I said at the start I thought £2k - £3.5k range so at £3.6k it's at the top end of that - it really depends if it's a good one. If it's really clean, engine is sound, it goes well, doesn't need any money spent and had nothing broken, and maybe low mileage as well then it's worth it.

A really good one should really be fairly easy to spot. If you can't tell it's not that good.

Hi Chris,

Its done 54,000km, when I went to view it he could not get iot started. Turns out the starter had broke. It needs fork seals and the black chrome from both sides of the engine cases has seen better days.

I'm going back up next week when he gets it going.
