Can any of you lot recommend someone for rechromeing in my part of the world (north Kent)
How much should I be looking at for Z900 A4 usual stuff, mudguards headlamp brackets etc, nothing is shagged but just pitted and not pretty.

The problem with re-chroming is that you have to have the old chrome removed in the same way as it is applied - electrolytically. The parts then have to be polished to a very high standard - the finish you put on pre-plating it the finish you end up with. If you want to save money you could get the chrome stripped off then polish it yourself. You will need to get an 8" grinder, a polishing spindle, wheels and polish from Machine Mart of similar. Not too expensive and will last a long time, and of course you'll be able to polish all your other bits. To be fair though, an expert polisher of Mikey's level will always do a top job
Mikey's company don't take on bike or car chroming. Before I knew Mikey I had been to the them to get some plating done and they declined my offer of swapping chromium for sterling
Shame cos they were just around the corner from my old office. The only other chromers in Bristol area are in Yate, and seem to have an attitude problem of a magnitude that would preclude me from giving them my money though I understand that their work is of a marketable standard. I met one of their reps at a bike show who was very pleasant but when I rang up to talk turkey the individual on the other end of the phone to arrogance to a new level and clearly didn't give a shit about getting new business.
