clutch side sprocket casing

#1 PostAuthor: jamfan » Wed May 14, 2008 10:05 pm

Hi lads, My gear change shaft is sloppy in the outer casing. I have removed this to look at. Is there a bushing that can be replaced or is it the casing that wears. I'm not sure as I cant see one. (the thread has also gone in the clutch cable and will require helicoiling)
thanks for any help. :D

If memory serves me right the shaft is supported by the aluminium casting. But there is no reason why this couldn't be carefully opened up and have a phosphor bronze bush fitted, though you would need it done by someone who is a reasonable engineer.
