Sorry for all the questions peeps but...
My batt is flat on my b2. I've just started it with jump leads fine but as soon as I take the leads off it misses and dies. I thought the alt would charge and it run ok, but no. I haven't had time to put a tester on the alternator outlets to see if its charging but on other bikes I've had with flat batts before, once started didn't die.
Any Ideas??

does the battery charge at all ? if it does and holds a charge I'd try again to see if it runs ok without the jump leads.
if it won't hold a charge it could cause enough of a drain to cause a misfire - maybe a cell has died ?
If you get it running turn the lights on and rev it - if the lights get brighter then it should be charging - thats not to say its not charging too much though.
in summary - start with a good battery and when running put a meter across the terminals - you should get about 14v if its 12 or less even when revved the charging systems is suspect.
