ZRX Chain Adjusters?

#1 PostAuthor: LeeJackson » Sun Feb 12, 2017 12:10 pm

Chaps,

I was just removing my rear wheel to fine tune the chain alignment and the axle galled up in the chain adjuster I had fitted on the chain side. The adjuster I got with the swingarm were machined parts rather than genuine. Axle is jammed solid for now, but It was always a bit tight, so I decided to fit the zephyr ones I had instead.

When I matched them up side by side I noticed that the Zephyr ones are actually two different lengths, but the home made ZRX ones I had were not.. So I am wondering if the genuine ZRX ones are two different lengths? It will obviously affect the wheel alignment. Does anyone know what lengths the ZRX ones are supposed to be?

If they are different lengths, which side does each go on?

Thanks
Lee

Ok the which goes on which side was a stupid question, they can only go one way with axle coming in from the left :) So just need to know what they measure I guess.

Cheers
Lee

Looking on CMSNL the ZRX adjusters are different part numbers, with the left-hand one being some €17 cheaper than the right-hand. That maybe indicates that the narrow one is on the left, though sadly there are no dimensions so this post probably hinders more than helps.... :wink:

they are different because one side has a bigger hole to take the nut

Yep confirmed on that, just wanted to check that they are both the same width or not? Zephyr ones are both different widths

Just checked my pair,
look pretty identical.

width = 395 mm

smooth diameter = 630mm

slotted edge outer diameter = 669 mm

taken from a 2001 1200R ZRX A1P model (they may differ ??)
