Does anyone know if you can fit a Z1R, Mkii or "J" (inlet or exhaust) camshaft to a Z1 to z1000A1 engine, simply by removing the 32 tooth sprocket and replacing it with a 30 tooth sprocket?
Throws would be geometrically in the same position!

PS I will be away for a few days over Xmas, hence, can't give feedback or answer queries.

Swap sprocket on camshaft
Garn (Sydney) Z1, Z1A, Z1B and Z900-A4
All the roller cam chain equipped engines have the same 3 bolt cam sprocket mounts so the z1r or mk2 cams will fit the Z1 and z1000 but you won't get any extra performance as the cam profiles are all the same up to the MK2/ST.
The 'J' cam is hyvo chain though and has a 2 bolt mount and won't swap without modifying the sprocket or fitting APE adapter sprockets.
Again no performance gain using the 'J' cams but the GPZ1100 Unitrack ones are sportier so they would be the ones you want if that was the aim.
