Armature screw

HELP! As is always the case with screws when you have a number doing the same job. Broke the seal on two of the three, then number three chewed out the head. Now instead of an Allen head it has a nice round hole in the top. Any ideas on how to sort it? Was thinking I could Dremel a slot for a stanley tip, but don't want half the screw head fracturing and causing me more grief. Tks

You could try hammering in a torx bit that is a little lager than what's left of the allen hole, but think about where the force that you're applying to that screw head is going - in other words don't hammer the crap out of something not strong enough to take it.

and if the torx bit fails try a torx socket if there is room, just a backup plan

Back when I was re-building forks, including changing upside down legs, which meant unscrewing the casing from the leg I used a torx hammered into the allen head grub screw without ever trying the allen key, a bit of heat until the threadlock went soft and it worked every time.
