Fuel tank Thread

#1 PostAuthor: wheelysteve » Sun Dec 04, 2016 8:38 pm

Can anyone tell me the size of the thread on the fuel tap spigot on a Z1 tank? I want to get a cap for one so I can use the coke and harpic clean.

Thanks, Steve

After a quick dig around, it looks like the thread is M22x1.0

Or do they mean the nut size is 22mm AF, and the spigot is actually smaller ?

Warning......
Careful using a rubber Bung..
I had a disaster using a bung to spread some internal coating on a tank.
The bung came out, thought it was as firmly in! The taper on the bung must have been too steep!
I wish I had spent more time making it secure.
