Chrome headlamp ears

#1 PostAuthor: harri183 » Wed Nov 30, 2016 12:19 pm

I was just sorting out my bits for the zed and noticed that the two sets of the headlamp she'll holders are different length when I thought they were both for my zed. When I say length I mean the distended of the end of the ears to the fork tube about 15mm bigger identical in all other ways. Any ideas guys.

Could someone measure the distance away from the forks to the outermost point for me for a z1. Cheers

The bigger of the two is what was on the bike but I don't think is z1, there is what I think is a date code on the bigger of the two of 678 which if it is means they are wrong. So my question is, is the smaller of the two correct.

The shorter unit is correct for a Z1B- Frame No 55500 onwards according to John Brookes' excellent book.

John's book I believe is still available and is a must, along with Zpower's parts book for the Z1 range, for anyone carrying out a serious restoration.
