Spokes

#1 PostAuthor: DavidZ1R » Wed Nov 30, 2016 6:08 pm

Has anyone had problems with spokes to fit the front wheel on a z1000a1, the reason I ask is because the spoke set I bought from Z P., the guy who is setting the spokes up said the spokes are 3 - 4mm short! I am sure the front wheel is the original one, the spokes are the same on the z650, all the 1000's, and the hub is for 4 bolt hole discs. The fitter can make the spokes in polished st, steel, could these take a zinc plate to match the rear, which fit ok, am wondering if I have a rouge rim, but off which model???? baffled of Bolton :??

David just measured the spokes on my a2 front wheel, from the outside of the bend of the spoke to where it enters the nipple is a tad over 170 mm would say four threads sticking out of the nipple, should be same as A1..Paul J

Cheers Paul, the spokes are 184mm as supplied, but the guy says they should be 187mm, he thinks they are not threading deep enough, not sure which way to go, the rear has plated spokes, stainless on the front would look odd I think.

This is the measurements i took from a Z900 A4 spoke. Earlier spokes for 6 hole hubs are shorter.

Hope this helps
