You mentioned further up ^^^^^ that you have returned to standard size jets, needles, needle jets and settings etc without mentioning what they are. Looking at the manual; Section 11 page 10 it shows two tables for the KZ/Z1000R with two very different sets of jetting and possibly (if i read it correctly) two subtly different carb bodies.
If that is the case do you know which carb body you have and which collection of setting are you applying to them.

Progress halted due to man flu and needing to take the bike to Ralph Ferrand to sort an annoying electrical problem before I whip the carbs off again to answer your questions.
Normal service will resume when the snot leaves my head....and Ralph gives me a slot.
