Tacho worm drive knacked......

#1 PostAuthor: RussG » Mon Oct 31, 2016 10:24 pm

Hi,
Stripping the engine on my Z1a and tacho drive nut was rounded, I finished off whilst getting it out with molegrips, do I have any other options other than sourcing a new one?

Russ, it sounds like someone has screwed the camshaft down onto the worm drive If this is the case I would check the head around the tacho port for cracks.

The worm gear is still available for around £40
