Widest rear tyre/rim on standard swingarm z1000a2
I'm getting my original '78 z1000 wheels rebuilt with new spokes and whilst at it I'm thinking of fitting slightly wider alloy rims to give me a better choice of modern tyre sizes/widths. Has anyone else done this to a z1000a and if so do you know the limits for tyre/rim combinations with the standard swingarm setup ? Any advice appreciated ta

Be wary of going to 150.
Although a 150 tyre will fit in the gap on my Metmachex arm, in practice the wheel will not rotate once the sprocket carrier, disc etc are fitted. The tyre hits the swingarm and it's nigh on impossible to line up the sprockets.
I am going to a Zephyr swing arm to get the clearance I need.

Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better
