There will be some extensive wire replacement and a relay feed going in like the rest of the fleet

That wired george md is very good. I'm tempted for the A4 but it's running really good so I'm a bit reticent to do it.

If the voltage at the coils is already close to 12v not a lot of point

Never been big on electrickery but having a stab at putting a pair of 3ohm Dynas on the MkII. With he below diagram when bypassing the ballast and plumbing in the wires does it matter as to where the wires go i.e. -
For Cylinders 1 & 4 with the red and black feed does the red go to the top of the coil terminal when mounted or to the bottom or ..........& likewise for the coil feeding Cyl 2 & 3.

Have wired up as per the above diagram, bike turns over but doesn't fire. I take it the diagram is correct ???

If so then I must have the wires all screwed up. I have the dyna green 3ohm coils with the HT leads coming out from on top and facing forward when in frame. With the two red power wires I have them fitted to the 'Top' connector on the Dyna and the Black / Green respectively to the bottom connector when the coils are mounted ?

Really need a profile diagram on the coils rather than the plan ones above. Cheers for any advice

Either swap Black/Green feeds around ------ or the mounting post is shorting the power - the low tension power screws sit very close to mountings!!!
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

You need to remove the Ballast Resistor used with the standard MKII coils.
Been running like this for 3 years with no issues.

+1 on the above . I was kindly educated on this point a short while ago on this Forum here (thanks again guys for that ! ) as I have been running MK2 ignition on my 900 with the Std OEM 'near' 4 ohm coils and the Resistor .....'wrongly' still hooked up to them ! I was lucky my coils are still fine & all's good.

All sorted and running well. Only issue I have is that on a cold start up the starter motor appears to 'run on' with a cold start and the motor not running up. Takes a few goes with a bit of choke on these chilly Oz mornings of late and every now and then I get that 'run on' issue with he starter.

Dunno answer to that - but on me Harris I was running Dyna S with Grey (2.2 Ohm) Dyna coils and one of them fried after a 100 miles :??
