Z1000 R2 piston rings

#1 PostAuthor: chrisNI » Mon Jul 25, 2016 7:50 pm

Does anyone know what the difference in the J ring equivalent part no: 13008-5035 as stocked by Z1 Enterprises and available and the 13008-5056 part listed for the 1000R2 is? Or to put it another way has anyone used these in a standard bored R2 motor with any success? My bore and pistons are good but I need rings, and don't want to have to o down a whole Wiseco rebore route if there's a better alternative.

Any thoughts appreciated. Posted this on the 1000R site also.

That's even better news :D I got stuff from Cradley today I asked about the 13008-5056 which is the part number in the R2 fiche I have and these are NLA. It was only when looking at Z1Enterprise's site I noticed the part number difference. I guess at some point the fiche was changed - any idea why that's wrong? If 5035 is the correct ring I have a batch more odds and ends to order anyway...

Thanks for your expert opinion - most useful as always :D

cradley have both part no's in stock the rings where modified along with the pistons to control excessive oil consumption they will probably need your frame or chassis no to determine the correct set of rings

Ok I'll try them again, I figured it may have been something to do with the infamous "smoky J" issue. I can see they're showing 13008-5056 as available he told me on the phone they didn't have them maybe he typed the number wrong. Hopefully the chassis number will pin down the right ones and they'll have them.

Ta :D
