Here goes, split the crankcases, rebuilt the engine, all back together ok. Put capful of oil on camshaft bearings, filled with 3.7 litres of oil. Start bike, runs great, oil level drops in window, but when i shut off - bike still on bench - the oil returns to sump and window full of oil. Normally when changing oil, the level drops and just needs topping up. Any ideas?

Level drops when running = okay
Level shows full when stopped = okay
Did you mean oil level returns HIGHER than before starting? If so, was probably all the extra oil you slapped around the cams, etc? Got an oil cooler fitted?
Hope you are using "crap" oil for running-in.

Thanks Piglet! There is only a capful of oil in the head. Prior to first start, filled up with oil, span motor to circulate oil, pressure light goes out. The sight window full, start motor, drops to lower mark, stop motor and sight window fills with oil.
