As part of a recent rebuild , I replaced the bearings and the O rings that live outboard of the bearings in their own carrier.
1 O ring carrier is fat and 1 is thin but I can't remember which one goes on which side. Doh!!!
When I took it to bits I didn't realise initially that they were different.
Any suggestions lads?

How different are they? I'm just working on a 650 one which I'm pretty certain is the same as a 900 one. It fits a 650 frame and a 3 spoke CMA 900 wheel so guess they are? My carriers are both the same with a 10 thou shim between the roller face and the "o" ring carrier on the chain side but not on the other.

Is the recess for one bearing deeper than the other? My carriers both stick out from the main tube by the same amount each side and the recess the roller bearing sits in is the same depth both sides. If your roller recss is shallower one side then I'say the thinner carrier fits that side to achieve the swing arm to sit central in the frame.
mine is a tight fit between the frame and doesn't need any extra spacers.

Ok. I've been fannying about with it while we've been online. The thin O ring carrier can go in either side , but the fat one only just gets its O ring into the swingarm recess if put on the non-chain side. So it probably isn't meant to be there.
I'll put the 2 additional spacer washers both on the non chain side cos then there's less fouling of swingarm on the exhaust hanger rubbers. But I'll check the chain run once the wheels on and the engine is back in the frame.
Unless there's a better solution...
