Guyz refurbing z1000 a2 fork seals,got main spring out and looking down tube can see the damper rod,ones i have done before you can see a nut or a hex socket that a bolt head would fit in,this looks round ! have tried the broom handle trip no go? any tiips....??

get a round tapered drift and wedge it in a bit of tube then tap it into the hole in the damper rod :)

I have the workshop tool and that does'nt work either the best piece of kit is a Gator grip socket on a long extension bar.
Works every time.

Ther is nowt to grip on nut or hex inlet perfectly round,tapered broom handle worked for the one but had to make a tool out of a piece of square m steel stock tapered and spanked in to the rod,needed a rattle gun as well,found the tool kwak used on a j manual tools sheet ,look like the tip off an old gas heated soldering iron!Thanks for ideas!

Yep thats the pic i have,is it a metal tapered tip? and what is the tip made from ? mild steel? i made a crude repro from m steel square stock...

Made my own tool only a few weeks back from an M12 nut (19mm hex) welded to a length of 1/2" gas pipe.

there are two sizes one has a smaller taper & they are hardened steel i have half a dozen sitting in my toolbox
