Z1000 spoked wheels 2004

#1 PostAuthor: Gus » Wed Mar 16, 2016 6:38 pm

Evening Gents.

My grey matter won't stretch to this.

A friend of mine (honest) wants to put spoked wheels in a 2004 Z1000.

Central Wheels say they will need some hubs.

Does any body know or could suggest a set that could work or be made to work?

Thanks chaps

Talon would be a possible easy (expensive) route?
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Hi Mark.

Will they produce the whole wheel then?

Looking quickly on Google Kineo seem to make wheels for the new Z1000.

Modern supermoto wheels might provide a suitable hub? Excel, etc.

Cheers Redbeard

I've fired some possibilities at him and he seems quite taken by the Kineo wheels but hey it's his money not mine.

I'll pass on the info.

It should be the dogs if he goes ahead with it

Cheers

I would assume making a complete set fit (with shims, etc.) would work out far cheaper than having a pair built.

He got a price from Kineo and it was around the £2100 mark for both wheels

Like you said Redbeard the cost of making something fit would be cheaper but more laborious.

Go for a nice set of modern spoked wheels off a Ducati for example and have the mods done to get them fitted, £2k is quite expensive. :??
