New front brake master cylinder

#1 PostAuthor: 1340fxd » Wed Jan 30, 2008 7:49 pm

I have been searching for a new front brake master cylinder as I am converting my 1978 KZ1000 from single to twin disc brakes.

Anyone else on the same mission may want to contact Johnny Bova in the US http://www.johnnysvintagemotorcycle.com/

I have not fitted it yet but he has supplied a new pattern one which he says is the same as the original twin disc conversion and it looks the part (with round reservoir not the trapezoid one on the A1/A2) - the only new option I could find on the Z Power site was square and looks very modern

I think the part number is 43015-018 (but do check this with him)

Hope this helps someone

5/8 ths trapezoid master cylinder

I found the part number in my parts catalogue for my twin front disc master cylinder which I believe will be the same as the one you're after.
THIS WILL BE A GENUINE KAWASAKI PART.
It is available but not with the lever.
Try Cycle parts.com and enter your part number or that of any part you're after that isn't available here.
The part number for my 5/8ths is 43015-1009.This is is complete with lever and would be ready to fit straight on your bike.
Their price is ?170 sterling plus post. I think Z Power sold them as well but they wanted ?285 plus the lever at ?15.

Good luck in your search.

a very very happy Harry4448

If you get one from Cycle parts.com it WILL come with the lever.

They also do Kawasaki tools. E.g, 4 Piston Ring Compressor @ $76 or about ?35 plus post.
