Went for a ride today and bike was I say was running fantastic.
Tick over good
Acceleration awesome
So enjoyable.

Then

Loss of power, not terrible but a definite rattle L/H side.
Engine ticks over ok but still that left hand rattle.

I think it's the shim and maybe urghhh I dunno but something.

Hi Paul explain??

Taken off cam cover and no broken gasket!!!! hooray for the grease tip.

Checked all valves and gaps and all within tolerance.
Tuned bike over and all looks ok.
Going to check Z's thoughts of cam chain slip.

So ill own up

I was so pleased with my finally getting everything balanced out i pulled away a bit rapid from stand still in first and that's when i thought!!!!! whats that.

loss of power and the tapping noise on left side.

Panicked but got me home and seemed ok.

But if i opened the throttle a bit rapid it didn't respond as well as it had been.

So there it is but it all seems ok.

Compression higher in 1 tans all other 3.

as already mentioned check the rotor hasn't come loose that is a common item that will cause a rattle from the left hand side. if it has come loose fit some of these schnorr washers & it will never come loose again

Done

It was the exhaust clamp! one of the nuts had come lose and the exhaust had come away slightly and the tapping was air popping at high pressure!!
