Anyone recommend someone to have a look at electrics on z1000a1 in merseyside/north west area ?
Clock lights and rear light out - have replaced clock loom and rear brake light works ok but side light doesn't come on unless ignition is in far right park position.
Spent some time chasing but now losing will to live
Cheers
Keith

Electrical Problem

That still sounds like the ignition switch to me as the rear light is routed via this.
I've been doing/wiring bike electrics for 30 years now and I'll have it sorted in a jiffy.
I live just north of Whitchurch near Nantwich...Where abouts are you? If you ride over to me I'll sort it while you wait. Give us a buzz if you like: 07955 302181.

Hi Keith. You might wanna check this out as I had the same isssue on my 900 Kawa & believe it or not I tracked it back to the Triple Fuse holder unit .If you have the same original Plastic 3 fuse holder as I did , well you may find as I did that the plastic claws that hold the fuses snug at the fuse connection interface point get tired from a combination of fuse heat & old age.I'd gone through everything too ( handle bar switches ,ign switch ,earths etc etc before stumbling onto this . I converted mine to a small 40mm high x 30mm wide 4 Fuse station with a Clear click on lid ( made by ..I think it was a company called Navara...try Halfords ) this is much the same as some / alot of modern day bikes have. It now utilizes "Spade" type fuses which are held super tight ,easy to see if there blown & easy to change out & most importantly elimates future issues. It's an easy to do functional upgrade. Hope this might help you out ...good luck. Johny B
