hmmm repeated Valve reshimming
I have one valve which regularily needs reshimming twice last year, all the others were fine. This one is tight again today after 900km`s. The head will have to come off as thats the smallest shim fitted now. Gaskets and bits in the post. But what do we think is going on a receeding valve seat would seem the most logical

Exhaust or inlet? possible valve is just being held opon a bit causing burning of seat?more likely on exhaust valve.Sound like you may need new seats or even have the valves "tipped" if you are on smallest shims!

You can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter

An inlet Paul compresion is good i guess i will find out once im inside. Im only on the smallest shim on this valve all the others are mid shim range as this one was before suddenly needing reshimming 3 times with only low km intervals

Could well be Piggy who sells the height gauge tool thing, might be a good idea to buy one save me having to run around and try to borrow.....
