z1 73 exhaust identification
Could anyone tell me how to identify if the exhausts are original on my 73 Z1.
The peashooter was only for Europe and only from Z1A onward.
72/73 pipes had no 'band' covering the header to muffler weld seam. This band was added at Z1A onward them removed again later in production.
The first 1000 Z1 baffles were held in by a 3mm rivet. This was replaced by a 6mm bolt and nut. The baffles were removable by using a pair of pliers onto a round bar.
There were no stampings or markings on the 72/73 pipes.
