900 / 1000 rear wheel rim
I'm looking for replacement rim and been offered one from a Z thou with rear disc brake. Are '76 Z900 and '77 Z1000 wheel rims the same /interchangeable ? Cheers
Hansloss, the Z900 & Z1000 rims are different.
The Z1000 has a different and directional spoke configuration. If you examine a Takasago original Z1000 rim, you will note a small arrow stamped into the rim.
I once had a z900 rim chromed and they sent me a Z1000 rim thinking they were the same. The Z1000 rim has one side spoked at a different angle, mainly because of the smaller hub diameter on one side.
