Engine help needed

#1 PostAuthor: Pinhead » Sat Jan 31, 2015 9:21 pm

Hi all
I'm after some advice all that is left to do is put the carbs back on
And the front calipers after a strip and rebuild
The bike was running find before I started and the kick start was also working it's only been about 5 months
I tried to turn the bike over on the kick start today
It's not moving
I had taken the sump off , the clutch cover and the alternator cover to polish them and have refitted them
Anyone have this happen to them or could give some help to point me in the right direction

Take all plugs out and try it, failing that drop it into gear and just rock it (with the clutch out :) )to get the gears etc moving. Has happened to me once before where it just settles in the 'wrong' place.

Hi
I have taken the plugs out
Then tried the kick start again same as before
I then put her in gear and rocked it
Then tried again it turned the engine over but was still hard to move

I would stop right away trying to turn this bike over, take off clutch cover, and alternator cover and retry, something catching or fitted incorrectly i reckon.

You can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter

All I have done is the covers

Ok
I have taken off the clutch and the alternator covers
All looks ok
You can move the engine back on the by hand using the iner part of the alternator
Then the kick start move easy up to a point then stops
The only cover left is the sump

Ok
I hold my hands up I'm a dick
When I had the engine out i soda blasted the engine
No: 2 pot must have been open guess where the soda went
There was not much in but must have been enough to stop it turning over

I hope all going to be ok when I start it up
