Hi folks...just bought new s/arm bearings for 1100B1 (same as 1000J) from Z-Power, p/n 92046 1035. Knocked out old ones, powder coated s/arm and came to re-fit today. To my surprise they are too big and when compared to ones I took out.. they are bigger no question about it. On examination there are thin sleeves fitted inside the s/arm that the old smaller bearing pushed into. Has anyone come across this issue before.....?
I don't just want to take these etra sleeves out (which will probably bugger them) without trying to get my head around why this might have been down.
Appreciate any insights.......
Cheers Matt

Has it got or has it had; square holes punched in the front 'leading' face of the cross tube?
If it has it will have suffered from a detached front sprocket and may have been reamed and bushed to allow fitting new bearings.
The side walls of those needle bearings is extremely thin and any damage to the cross tube will result in them binding on the sleeves.
Just a thought.

Hi Freddy....no the old bearings (rusty POS) came out cleanly and in one piece and I just assiumed they were the right ones...only one or two mm smaller than the new parts and look the same at a glance. The sleeves are very thin and still in the s/arm.....

Just bought new internal bearing sleeves from zpower but they wanted something like £12 each for the needle rollers.
So i bought the identical bearing from my local stockist for about £4 each.
May have the same size as you took out if you dont want to damage the PC you just put on it!

Thanks..Yeah that may be my best option....but I am the proud owner of x2 new bearings from Z-P at their nice prices and it hurts not to use them. I can only think that at some point in past someone took out old ones and either had some el cheapo slightly smalller ones so went to the trouble of inserting sleeves...(for a few quid seems daft thing to do)...Or....the old bearings came out and the s/arm was rusty inside so it was bored a tad to clean it up and then sleeves and smaller bearing were fitted...(seems very weird)......
