4 different carbs listed for Z1000A

#1 PostAuthor: tlc » Mon May 25, 2009 3:09 pm

After discussions with the 1000A lads today I said that I would share the info from my genuine parts manual.

P.No. 16001-299 1000A1 Eng No. 1 - 012015

P.No. 16001-1024 1000A1 Eng No. 012016 - 042500

P. No. 16001-1025 1000A2

P. No. 16001-1023 1000A2A

These listings are for the full racks of carbs but when looking up parts therein you should use the No. to identify which jets relate to your carbs.

Carbs 299 and 1024 use an O-6 needle jet and 5CN08 jet needle with a 107.5 main and a 17.5 pilot. This carbs slide has a 1.5 cutaway.

Carbs 1025 use an O-5 needle jet and 5DL31 jet needle with a 105 main and a 15 pilot. This carbs slide has a 1.5 cutaway.

Carbs 1023 use an O-3 needle jet and 5CN07 jet needle with a 102.5 main and a 15 pilot. This carbs slide has a 2.0 cutaway.

It is possible to tell the carbs apart by sight but this reference could be useful if someone has partial open fuelling issues and suspect the cause to be a mismatch between needle, jet, pilot and cutaway.

Can anyone tell me what the visual differences are between A1 and A2 carbs?

Pretty sure tha main visual difference is the vacuum port on the A2, not on the A1.......stand to be corrected by someone who knows
