Piston Question

#1 PostAuthor: DavidZ1R » Mon Oct 27, 2014 6:33 pm

I have a piston which has +2 stamped on the inside, but only an arrow on the crown, is this 1st oversize, and does the cylinders need a rebore to take them, or are they for worn cylinders? ta

you really need to measure the piston that is in the bike & compare the measurement with the new piston

Oversize pistons are stamped on the crown. ART pistons are stamped +.5mm or +.1mm. The barrel must be re-bored to the correct size. You cant just put an oversize piston in a worn bore, most bores wear oval and tapered.
If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. Then quit. There's no point in being a damn fool about it.
