Not fast enough ?

#1 PostAuthor: Kwackersken » Sun Oct 26, 2014 9:39 am

Hi All
Anyone got any idea what speedo I could use to replace this one on my KZ1000J, because it's an import it only goes up to 85mph and I would like one that goes higher but looks similar
As you can see it's an electric speedo with turn light, oil light and neutral light in it, does the UK Model look the same but with higher mph ?
Many thanks
Kenny

Is that speedo / odo driven electrically from a unit attached to the wheel / spindle on the LHS via a black sheathed multi-strand wire?

The speed limit is 70mph Kenny so the speedo that's on should be fine

In that case its a J1 and a UK speedo / odo (MPH) will be a straight swop if you can find some that work.
There is a slight fly in the ointment in that there is an orange wire in the mix somewhere. I think it is a slightly different set of info lights but cant remember which way round it works!
Not really woken up yet either.

Hi kenny, the z1100st speedo is 160mph, it has the same set up as you've got (TURN, OIL, NEUTRAL). And is a total of 98mm diameter.
Cheers freddy :D
