Front fork stanchions - Pattern Z-Power or re-chrome?

#1 PostAuthor: 1340fxd » Tue Dec 04, 2007 9:29 pm

Z-Power do pattern replacement stanchions for the Z1000 A2 but several suspension specialists say re-chroming the old tubes will give a harder, longer lasting finish that the original. And to avoid pattern ones if they are from Italy as British chrome is better (naturally, I would say)

Anyone got any views and better still if backed by some history of practical experince please?
Dear Santa, please can I have...

Hi 1340fxd,
i had a pair of Z1000A2 stanchions re-hard chromed by Philpotts of luton, last year. They are on the web. They did a great job. They do a collection and delivery service for a very reasonable price.
