Z1A Electrical problems

#1 PostAuthor: willjanuk » Wed Oct 01, 2014 7:25 pm

I have recently restored a Z1A and when I switch the headlight on to main beam the idiot main beam light glows and the headlight seems dim, when I switch to main beam idiot light is bright and main beam is good.

I have checked the wiring in the headlight and found that the main beam terminal has got hot and melted the plastic, but is still useable.

I also have a problem with the bulb failure light in the rev counter in that it it always on.

Anyone have any idea's.

Thanks Will.

Headlight turned out to be wires connected up wrong on the bulb plug as the unit I had red a yellow and a blue wires coming from it which does'nt match the wiring loom and I have disconnected the power to the warning light, so fixed now.
