Steve,
I recently rebulit the top end of my J installing a Wiseco big bore kit. I an earlier thread you sorted out my confusion on whether I retained the various O rings when using this gasket and you correctly said "no"

However Since the engine has been assembled there has been a fine mist of oil around the bore which I originally thougth was just a leak from a cam plug but it seems to be more general than that, around the cylinder head joint. Given that the head is properly torqued (well the 12mm anyway, the 2 end 6mm bolts I think have BU***d threads). Could the leakage be that the 2 6mm bolts are not tightened down or for some other reason? One thing I note is that you seem to suggest filling in the cam tunnel O ring groove. I have not done so. Could that be the problem?
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another without loss of enthusiasm

Hello Kiwiz, yes the camchain tunnel is very close to the cylinder bores so I would expect this to be the problem, the 6mm bolts at the end do very little, 2 6mm bolts into alloy will have very little impact compared to 12 x 10mm steel studs torqued to 35ft lb, Regards, Steve
