Z 1300 igniter.

#1 PostAuthor: Sha Hoorsur » Mon Aug 18, 2014 6:05 pm

I think my problem with the z1300 is a faulty igniter.
I have searched e-bay etc, but I cant locate a replacement anywhere.
Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated.
Its a 1979 z1300.
The igniter has the words IC IGNITER Kawasaki. cast into the front of it.

Thanks for the advice guys.
I discovered the black and yellow wire from the igniter has melted thru the insulation, it looks like it's been like that for some time. I have seperated the melted wire and soldered a new one in. So I will see if that works.
The price of a replacemant is a bit eyewatering, but I might have to bite the bullet. (the wife will chew my whatsits off)
Still trying to trace the original fault, but it's going to be the weekend before I get a chance.
Isn't rebuilding old bikes fun?
