The first one's are of a great trip a couple of weeks ago up the west coast of Scotland, Crinan, Oban, Corran ferry across and around the Ardnamurchan to ferry at Mallaig over to Skye, Plockton and then back South via Glencoe.

The bike went like a dream, really pleased with it. However..... the speedo stopped working half way through the trip. With the help of Al Marshall I eliminated the clock being the cause and focused on the drive end. It was full of thick grease which I stripped out and think I may have identified the cause. Another photo hopefully..

It looks like the fins on speedometer pinion are chipped which has caused it every now and then to stick and be pulled out of position by the gear and therefore no longer engaged and driven. Never having seen one before I don't know whether the issue has been made worse by the fact that it looks like the end of the gear box assembly that the end of the pinion sits in has been cut or worn so making it easier for the pinion to jump out.
Any ideas on how best to fix it or replace?
Thanks Simon
