Z900 A4 Tank Removal

Not really great with mechanicals but before attempting to remove for re-painting, could anyone tell me how best to remove the tank on a Z900A4?

Is it quite straight forward or are there any gotchas I need to look out for?

Just remove the fuel pipes and slide the tank backwards and upwards

Thanks PJ, I assume tank comes off with tap so can empy remaining fuel by opening tap. Bone question I am sure.

That's exactly right, but then remove the tap and make sure all the fuel and genk is removed.

Take the side panel off as you can catch it with the fuel tap when pulling it back - I've only caught it once but that was enough!

don't forget to release the rubber strap at the rear of the tank underneath

Thanks all. Will have a go using all the advice next w/end if I can go wrong it will but fingers crossed.

Oh! Don't forget to switch the fuel tap off before taking the pipes off!

All, many thanks remove all parts piece of cake with all your tips. Will deliver tank etc to TCP Norwich for tank seal and re-spray on Wed. I can't remember who recommended TCP on the forum, but having contacted Ian at TCP seems sound bloke.
