There is normally always room for improvement !
If 2&3 are running richer ,then that can be sorted ,I have been messing around with my uni-trak 11 same sort of problems ,and have found quite a few things not right ! it is 30 years old and i think you will always be able to get them to rev more and go better ,quicker ect ?
I have just learnt about V- the coils in, and compare readings ,then go from there, mine was way low on 2&3 pots due to a some iffy wires !!
I got that very useful and no bullshit info from oldschoolperformance site , there are a couple of very active members on here .TOP site....

You cant beat experience and a No bullshit attitude

Mowjoe, I like your thinking, although the rings will eventually let you down as Z1Bman says. Regarding part of your post....Are these the small openings at the outside edge of the throat mouth.
Is there a small brass jet down there that cannot be removed. Assuming we are talking about the same air passage!

Yes that's the ones where the pilot air is drawn in then on past the pilot air adjustment screw. Because the bike was new to me I was checking as much as I could especially associated with sooty plug and not getting any change on the colour tune on cyl one and four. That's when I found some sort of fluff / dead insect (hard to tell) blocking these holes on those two cyl!
Z900-A4 looking like a Z1B!
