Does the engine turn over but not fire up, or not turn over at all?
Could be solenoid gone? Listen to hear a click as the solenoid throws its high current switch, when juice is on.
Awaiting answer to GB's query!
As Yellow says, once starter is turning it takes most of the current from the coils, for them to fire, with a low battery

Sorry guys been away from a network connection. The bike starts fine off kickstart. Button start was fine til I I filled up wi petrol then nothing. There is no click from solenoid. I think the battery is healthy enough. I'm suspecting the button or solenoid but wondered what order to check stuff?. Help is really appreciated
First I would test the Sarter motor, short out the two large connectors on the relay with a suitably insulated tool (spark). If the starter cranks then that is ok.
You say you have current to the relay so a assume you have a meter or simalar, put ammeter between the two small wires on the relay and press the starter button. If you see voltage then you are getting power to the relay so it would indicate the relay is faulty.
If you don't get voltage then it looks like the wiring loom or switch. You could apply power to the + small wire on the relay to see if it works just connect a small piece of wire between battery and dab it onto the + connector.
If you don't feel comfortable shorting out terminals leave it to someone else who is.
Best of luck

Tried the shorting out trick and yes starter spins fine.
I can only get 6 volts (was expecting 12) at the small relay wires so was a bit confused. There is no click when I press starter button but a definite voltage switch. Gotta be the starter relay hasn't it?. Do I go Z-power £40 plus post or wemoto £17 ?
Thanks for the advice guys
